It’s the end of summer, which has me thinking about fleeting things. Things like childhood, Sunday afternoons and falling stars. I guess that’s probably why I attached myself to the word “evanescent” when I heard someone use it the other day. Thank you, someone, who said such a pretty word during such a boring meeting.
Evanescent. It means fleeting and can sometimes take longer to say than the moment you’re describing. Which might be a good thing. You can keep thinking about that moment while you enjoy all the natural places your mouth can stop and rest along the way.
On the V.
On the N.
On the S.
On the T.
It’s nice to have a long word for something so lovely and short. Try it out on something you’d like to last a little longer and you’ll see what I mean.
